Raise Your Voice

"Mommy, don't kill me.  Let me live.  Let me grow up to be like you.  Let me make you proud by my accomplishments.  Let me love you with all my heart.  Please, Mommy, let me live."
This is the cry of every unborn child that is threatened by the evil of abortion.  they cry out to their parents buy sadly so few hear.  They cry out to us.  Do we hear?  Do we listen for their cries or do we drown them out with other things?
I have a pamphlet called "Sing a Little Louder."  In it, a man tells a story of how during the German Holocaust, each Sunday as a group of Christians sat in church, they heard a train go by.  But this was not just any train, for it was carrying Jews.  The Christians could hear the cries of the Jews and it rally bothered them... So they decided that they would sing to block out the cries.  The next Sunday, by the time the train rumbled by, they were singing loudly.  If they still heard the Jews, they sang louder to drown it out.  The man compares that holocaust to abortion and asks the question:  Will we hear the cries of the unborn, or will we "sing a little louder?"
It is the duty of every Christian to defend life.  We must speak out against all forms of abortions, contraception, and euthanasia.  These are all sins against the fifth commandment.  If we do not speak out, we are committing the sin of silence which is as bad as performing the act itself.
January 22, 1973 was a fateful day for our country.  It was worse than any war that ever plagued this country.  It was on that day that millions of babies were condemned to death.  Now, over thirty years later, babies are still being killed.  More than four thousand humans die each day.  Millions of Americans have been murdered - Americans who may have done great things for our country.  This is worse than any persecution in history.  How many more will die before this cruel holocaust is over?
Two thousand years ago Christ said, "Love your neighbor as yourself."  Even today we are supposed to heed this command, but do we?  Do we love the little unborn children to the point that we will fight for then no matter the price?  Many pro-life people have been jailed for their beliefs.  Now, I am not saying you should get yourself arrested, but I do want you to ask yourself, "Would I go that far?"
This year the Eagle's motto is "Raise your Voice."  We decided to dedicate this year to defending life.   We must raise our voices and speak out against this holocaust which overshadows our country.  We must stand up for the unborn infants who have no voice in the matter.  We must listen to the cries and not drown them out.  We must fill this world with the echoes of their words, "Let me live."
I hope this makes you stop and think about what you can do.  We must stop abortion before it's too late.  Let us remember God's words, "...before you were conceived in your mother's womb, I knew you."  Each child is a precious gift from God.  We must protect and cherish these gifts and not let the enemy destroy them.  Let us speak out in favor of defending life and not be afraid of the price.  Join other pro-lifers by continuing to "Raise your Voice."
