Anniversary Day Prayer Vigils

The Blessed Virgin Mary first appeared
to Mary Ann Van Hoof in her bedroom on November 12, 1949 in vision only. She then visited Mary Ann on
April 7, 1950 in voice only, saying that She would be back, but not in this
room, rather where and when the flowers bloom, trees and grass are green. That Visit turned out to be May 28,
1950: followed by repeat Visits on
May 29 and 30, June 4 and 16, August 15 with 100,000 people present, and October
7 with 125,000 present.
Mary Ann died on
March 18, 1984, and prior to her death, a promise was made by the Blessed Virgin
Mary: "When we take your sister home,
I will be with you on all the
Anniversary Days to bless these grounds.
You will not see Me or the Celestials with Me.
I will not abandon
you unless you abandon Me. Is that
understood?"
Thus, in honor of Our Blessed Mother,
special Prayer Vigils have and continue to be held at the Sacred Spot of the
Apparitions each and every year. They have become known as "Anniversary Day
Vigils". They generally consist of the
fifteen decade rosary, special prayers, and appropriate hymns.
All of the efforts and sacrifices put forth by
those attending the Vigils are done to honor Our Blessed Mother and to thank
Her. We thank her; first, for humbling Herself by appearing here; second, for
Her messages of warning and advice; and third, for the many graces and blessings
showered upon us throughout the years. |
